With „alpha Uni“, the Bayerischer Rundfunk has developed a social media format for a young public providing high-school and university students and graduates entering the work force with career orientation and information on their choices of subjects and job opportunities. The format presents short, 15-minute videos on YouTube, Tiktok and in the ARD-Mediathek. „alpha Uni“ is widely followed with currently some 94 500 subscribers on YouTube.
The latest issue is entitled „Geschichte studieren: Mord im Mittelalter?!“ (Studying history: Murder in the Middle Ages?!) and portrays the experiences of a student studying history at the LMU Munich, also featuring the MGH. (>>> YouTube Video). The student is in fact an assistant researcher at the MGH. Beginning at 00:04:30, she presents the excellent facilities for medieval research projects at the Munich institute of the Monumenta Germaniae Historica (>>> MGH Library). In this context, we would like to draw attention to our various scholarship programmes enabling graduate and post-docs to pursue their research projects at the MGH (>>> Scholarships at the MGH).
