Visitors From Belgium

The institute of the Monumenta Germaniae Historica was one of the venues of this year’s Munich excursion for students of the Université Catholique de Louvain (Leuven, Belgium). „I think that it is important for the students to see one of the hubs of German scholarly research,“ wrote Prof. Dr Paul Bertrand, explaining the reasons for the visit.

Accompanied by Professors Paul Bertrand, Gilles Lecuppre and Baudouin Van den Abeele, the students gained insights into the research resources provided by the MGH and the work involved in publishing source editions, and learnt about the MGH’s long research tradition. The guests were interested in the criteria for choosing new edition projects and praised the Monumenta’s consistent open access policy applied to the digital resources of dMGH.
