Together with the heads of other historical institutions in Bavaria, MGH president Prof. Dr Dr h.c. Martina Hartmann was invited to the Bavarian Ministry of Sciences and Arts to conclude the current target agreement.
On this occasion, Minister Markus Blume praised the four non-university historical research institutions: the Collegium Carolinum, the Historische Kommission at the Bayerische Akademie der Wissenschaften, the Historisches Kolleg und the Monumenta Germaniae Historica, as „pearls of the historical sciences“. Minister Blume affirmed that through the current target agreement the institutes have strategically positioned themselves up to the year 2027, receiving in return the promise of excellent long-term research conditions from the Bavarian state. „We are proud to have these institutions in Bavaria,“ he stated. “They make our state an internationally important centre of historical research. In particular, it is the great variety that makes the Bavarian research landscape so unique.“ („Wir geben der Geschichte Zukunft! Die vier außeruniversitären Forschungsinstitute Collegium Carolinum, Historische Kommission bei der Bayerischen Akademie der Wissenschaften, Historisches Kolleg und Monumenta Germaniae Historica sind geschichtswissenschaftliche Perlen.
